BOSTON, September 15, 2022 – Ligris + Associates PC, a Boston boutique law firm focused on commercial and residential real estate transactions, announces that attorney Jo-Ann Marzullo has been named to the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2022 “Top Women of Law” list. This highly coveted honor celebrates the exceptional accomplishments of women attorneys as leaders, educators, and mentors, and for their pro bono, social justice, advocacy and business efforts. Marzullo and fellow award recipients will be honored at a reception on November 16, 2022 at the State Room in Boston.

With over 30 years of experience, Marzullo is experienced in complex, sophisticated real estate matters having completed acquisitions, financings, developments, and construction projects representing parties ranging from retail and healthcare properties to corporations across the country. She leverages her keen intellect and experience to address issues involving leasing, sales and acquisitions, development, construction and design contracts, construction and permanent loans, title and other due diligence reviews.

Outside the firm, Marzullo is dedicated to advancing the missions of non-profit legal, business, and community organizations. She co-founded and currently co-chairs the Sustainability Group of CREW Boston, the region’s leading professional organization promoting the advancement of women within the commercial real estate industry. While serving on the Finance Council of St. Theresa Parish in Billerica, she contributed to the development of Rose Hill Manor, an affordable housing project for the elderly. She is also a member of the prestigious Abstract Club, which is composed of lawyers who are considered leaders in the field of real estate law.

Marzullo is a recent past chair of the Real Property, Trust and Estate (RPTE) Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA) and was the Section’s representative to the ABA Coronavirus (COVID-19) Task Force. She is the Section’s representative to the Legal Services Corporation Housing Task Force, and a Section representative to the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Real Property Acts. She also served as one of the drafters for two ABA resolutions, which were passed during the 2020 Annual meeting and 2022 Mid-Year Meeting. Together with other advocates, Marzullo’s work authorized the ABA to urge all federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal legislative, and other governmental bodies to support housing stability and public funding of rent relief during the pandemic and to implement the ABA Ten Guidelines for Residential Eviction Laws.
